Helsinki – April 4th – The esports organization Helsinki REDS has acquired a Finnish tournament organizer Taurora, which will be merged into the REDS’ organization. Along with this merger the REDS expands its activity into organizing esports tournaments.
Taurora ws founded in 2015 for Dota 2 tournaments and has since then also organized CS:GO and LoL tournaments.
The Helsinki REDS was founded in November 2016 and currently it has teams in Dota 2 and Hearthstone. One goal for the Helsinki REDS since day one has been expanding into organizing tournaments and acquiring Taurora is an important step for the REDS.
– Joel Toivonen and Karo Laine have done an amazing job creating and developing Taurora. We will continue the work in cooperation with them and the next steps in development will be taken already this year. Joel’s and Karo’s capabilities are a very important asset for us, said Christer Kasurinen, the General Manager of the REDS.

The Helsinki REDS is operated by a limited company based in Finland and owned by Oy HIFK-Hockey Ab, which also operates the professional ice hockey club IFK Helsinki.
